I've hinted that I've had some exciting things in the works, and now I am so pleased to share the news -- I'm making a new album!
I'm so grateful that in all of my musical pursuits, I've been held by people like you who believe in what I do and want to be a part of making it happen. That's what keeps me going and makes it all possible.
So I'd like to invite you to be a part of this album right from the start. To pre-order it now, get access to exclusive behind-the-scenes updates as we're making the record, and to know that you've helped bring it into being when you hear it in the spring.

Who, What, When, How
In January I'll be going into the studio with my friends Joel Price (mandolin, fiddle, harmonies) and Conrad Sisk (cello). If you've seen me play on the East Coast or in the South in the past couple of years, you may have seen us playing together. I love the way they make my music sound, and I can't wait for you to hear the new songs we're going to be putting down on tape.
Yes, tape! We'll be recording at Tiny Telephone, an all-analog studio in Oakland where folks like Mirah, the Magnetic Fields, tUnE-yArDs, and Jolie Holland have recorded. The result is a rich sound with minimal editing, similar to what you'd hear if we were playing for you right there in person.
How You Can HelpToday I'm launching a 60-day crowdfunding campaign to raise $12,000 to make this record. I invite you to check out my video about 6 Reasons to Give to My New Album and pre-order the album today to help us kick things off with a bang!
There are some awesome perks if you give, including behind-the-scenes updates as we make it, brand new t-shirts, handwritten song lyrics, vegan baked goods, stickers, and of course, CDs and downloads!
I'll be sending periodic updates as we go to let you know how we're doing, and also posting funny videos and pictures on Facebook and Instagram as we reach different milestones along the way.
When I reach my goal of $12,000 by December 16, I will be able to go into the studio in January and release the album this spring. Then the plan is to go on tour and come play the new songs for you in person!
Please pre-order today, and spread the word to your friends using facebook, a tin can telephone, and/or good old-fashioned word of mouth.
Your support is so deeply appreciated in helping me realize this creative dream!
Queer Country West Coast Friday Night
Want to come celebrate the kickoff of my album fundraiser with me? This Friday night I'm hosting the fall edition of my queer country show. I'll be playing the middle set with my friend Danny Morris. Opening the show is folk/blues/bluegrass band Addie & the Subtrax, and closing out the night is alt-Americana band Low Sky Echo.
Please join me at this show to celebrate my new album! Check out our Queer Country website and the facebook event for full details.
Take care,
Eli
P.S. In the first 24 hours of the campaign, 39 people have collectively given $1844, bringing us 15% of the way to the goal, which is amazing! I made this silly celebratory video when we reached 10% on the first night. Now we're only $156 away from making it to $2,000. If we make it to 20% by midnight pacific time tonight, I'll make another celebration video. Will you help us get there?
