In Other Words Feminist Bookstore
Eli Conley and Hip for Squares kicked off our tour at Oakland's Actual Cafe on Friday July 29th with a packed house. Thank you to Jess Rice who opened up the show, and everyone who came out and helped make it such a magical night!
The next day we got up at 6 am to load up the van and make it to Eugene, OR by 6 pm(!). By the way, you can see pics of us that morning, and all along the tour, at my facebook photo album. We made it to Eugene, and even had time to eat some fancy vegan pizza before we played our set and then kicked back to the bluesy tunes of Melissa Ruth.
In Portland, we filled our hearts and our shopping carts with help from the rad women at In Other Words Feminist Bookstore, where we had the pleasure of playing alongside Tansy & Tarweed. You can see a video of Eli talking about the fond memories brought up by the ceramic vaginas hanging on the wall behind us here.

Talia Cooper at Skylark
In Seattle we felt right at home among the queers at the Skylark (pic below), sharing the stage with the dreamy Dreamcake and the phenomenal Gina Belliveau. Plus, we got to eat popsicles at the beach on a rare sunny Seattle day. And in Bellingham, WA we closed out our tour by playing at a wine bar with acoustics good enough that we didn't even need microphones, and then jumping on a giant trampoline under hundreds of stars. I can't wait to get out on the road again.
