As an independent musician, I not only write and perform my own music, but I also book all of my own shows and have almost always done all of my own publicity. But I'm looking to hire someone to help me with promoting my April 2015 East Coast Tour.
Here's what I'm looking for:
Someone who loves my music
Someone with strong writing, online research & organizational skills
Someone friendly and professional who enjoys communicating with people
You don't have to have any experience doing publicity, just a willingness to learn. Duties may include researching press outlets (including local newspapers, alt weeklies, folk radio shows, and music and/or LGBTQ blogs and listservs) in each city I'm touring to, sending out tour press releases and making followup phone calls, posting concert information on local event pages, mailing posters to venues and CDs to radio stations. You can be located anywhere as long as you have a strong internet connection and are able to touch base with me by phone once a week.
Pay would be $20 an hour for 2 - 4 hours a week in February and March, with the potential to work together again in the future. The work hours are flexible and negotiable, depending on your schedule and interest.
Does this sound like you? If you're interested, please contact me at eli@eliconley.com. Let me know why you're interested in working with me and any relevant experience you have. I look forward to hearing from you!
Eli
